Sound Intensity Module

After entering the measurement parameters on the PC, they are sent directly to the AR glasses and displayed virtually in the room. The transducers can then be easily aligned to these positions. The difference to the Local SI module is that the Sound Intensity module is fully integrated into the ArtemisSuite measurement software from HEAD acoustics.

Sound measurement process

1. Configuration of the test setup via PC

In the ArtemiS SUITE from HEAD acoustics, you are intuitively guided through the individual steps of the test setup. These include selecting the measurement type (note: in conjunction with the Sound Intensity module, only a discrete measurement is currently possible), the direction of the measurement path, entering the dimensions of the measurement object and setting up the enveloping surface.

3. Data transfer via Bluetooth

After all configuration steps in ArtemiS SUITE have been successfully completed, the test setup can be sent to the HoloLens by clicking on the "Sent to HoloMetrix" button.

3. Placing the reference cuboid

Once the data has been successfully transferred, a virtual window will appear in the HoloLens prompting you to place the reference cuboid. Click on this button and stretch one hand forward. A hand beam will now appear from your hand, at the tip of which a two-dimensional reference rectangle can be seen. This blue reference rectangle follows the movement of your hand. Place the rectangle so that it surrounds the object to be measured and is in the correct position (or on the correct plane in space). You can now confirm the position with an air tap. If the position is correct, the corresponding spatial reference cuboid will appear immediately.

4. Sound Intensity Measurement

The Sound Intensity module now creates the enveloping surface and displays it automatically. There is no need for further preparation.

Depending on the measuring direction you have selected in ArtemiS, the first segment is now framed in green and a transparent sphere is displayed in its center. You can now easily align your measuring device (SI probe) with this sphere. By clicking on "Start" on the remote control of the SI probe, the measurement is started at this point and indicated by a green progress bar around the sphere. Once the measurement is completed at this point, the measurement result is automatically displayed at this segment. Repeat this process for all segments of the enveloping surface.

4. Displaying and saving results

4. Displaying and saving results

Once all sub-segments have been successfully measured, a sound field map is automatically created. On the one hand, this visualization significantly facilitates the interpretation and, on the other hand, the detection of acoustic problem zones. Measures can then be taken to reduce the acoustic emissions of the measurement object if necessary. The measurement results are not only visualized in the HoloLens, but are also automatically transferred to the PC and displayed in ArtemiS SUITE. Once the measurement is complete, they can be saved so that they can be compared with later measurements if necessary.

Easily integrated

The Sound Intensity module can be easily integrated into the existing measurement chain. The measurement parameters are configured on the PC and sent to the AR glasses via Bluetooth.

saves time and money

By eliminating long preparation and follow-up times, the measurement duration is reduced by up to 80 % (cost savings of ⌀ € 37,500 / year).

Flexible

The Product is suited for indoor and outdoor measurements and for objects of almost any size.

Easy evaluation

The measurement results are automatically sent to the measurement software on the PC.

Winner of the German Innovation Award 2022 in »Gold«

The company won the "Excellence in Business to Business" competition in the "Machines & Engineering" category with the "HoloMetrix -Sound HUB", a positioning aid that significantly simplifies acoustic measurements using augmented reality. Using AR glasses, a virtual test set-up is displayed three-dimensionally in the real environment.
This is a significant step forward from the usual approaches of the past, which impressively demonstrates what the topic of measurement will look like in the future," said the jury.
